SOZO BODY (BIS) ANALYSIS SCAN
A SOZO scan can be booked as an individual Wellbeing Body Scan to provide detailed information about body composition, hydration and fitness-related health measures.
A SOZO Bioimpedance Spectroscopy scan is also included with every lymphoedema appointment. This allows us to assess your fluid levels and body composition at your initial consultation and monitor changes throughout your swelling-reduction program.
SOZO also plays an important role in our Lymphoedema Prevention and Early Detection Program. For people at risk of developing lymphoedema following cancer treatment, lymph node surgery or radiotherapy, regular SOZO measurements can detect subtle fluid changes before visible swelling or other symptoms develop.
As part of our commitment to supporting the local community, we offer an initial complimentary SOZO scan to anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. This is a dedicated prevention and early detection service and does not include an appointment or consultation with a lymphoedema practitioner.
A baseline measurement is ideally taken before cancer treatment or as early as possible afterwards. Follow-up scans can then be compared with this baseline, allowing early intervention if a significant change is identified. Early detection and treatment may help prevent mild fluid changes from progressing into established lymphoedema.
Using advanced Bioimpedance Spectroscopy technology, SOZO accurately measures extracellular and intracellular fluid to support the assessment, early detection and ongoing management of lymphoedema.
The scan also provides advanced body-composition measurements, including:
Fat-free mass
Fat mass
Active tissue mass
Skeletal muscle mass
Protein and mineral levels
Basal metabolic rate
Body mass index
Hydration analysis
Phase angle, which provides information about cellular health
The scan is quick, non-invasive and painless.
