Q/ Do I require a Doctor’s Clearance to begin treatment?

A/ Doctors clearance needs to be attained if you:

·      Acute Cellulitis/ erysipelas

·      Renal Failure

·      Unstable Hypertension

·      Sever Cardiac insufficiency

·      Peripheral Artery Disease

·      Deep Vein Thrombosis / Thrombophlebitis

·      Hepatic cirrhosis abdominal fluid (ascites)

·      Superior vena cava obstruction

·      Untreated Tuberculosis or malaria

·      Untreated Thyroid Dysfunction

·      Primary tumours

·      Metastases

(often we require a clearance from your doctor or oncologist post cancer treatment and recommend 4 – 6 weeks post radiation before Decongestive Lymphatic therapy begins. This allows time for the skin to heal from the radiation.  Treatment during cancer treatment requires your doctors/oncologist’s approval and your consent to assist in providing relief of symptoms.
